Dr. Betty McDonald is currently Manager, Professional Development Unit of The Learning Centre at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. She has been a Visiting Professor to many universities including Huazhong Normal University, China and The University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. As a Visiting Scholar to universities in London, Manchester, Sydney and Toronto, she has done collaborative research with many colleagues. She has worked in senior positions in Barbados, The Bahamas and New York and has served on several government appointed committees. A recipient of various awards including a UNESCO Award for outstanding contribution to education, APA Award for research, a Fulbright Fellow and member of AERA, NCME, CRESST, ASCD and UNA-USA, she has close to 40 years of experience and is widely published. With numerous presentations and technical reports to her credit, she is a reviewer and associate editor for several international journals. Many local and international graduates continue to benefit from her supervision. Extremely active in her community she attends to a number of local charities. Measurement, assessment, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Service Learning (SL), teaching and learning, applied statistics, mathematics education, project management and professional development are her research interests.
